Frondose
- This is a term used by Hofner to describe its most ornate headstocks. Essentially, the term translates to "leaf-like," and that's the perfect description of the headstock used on such models as the Hofner Committee (1959) and the 1961 Golden Hofner. Few guitars (if any) could match the intricate shape and complex mother-of-pearl inlays used on these two Hofner hollowbody guitars. Both had clear pickguards, a rather novel concept for guitars built in the late 1950s and early '60s.
