Diminished Interval
- Perfect or minor intervals (and triads) which are reduced chromatically by a semitone are defined as Diminished Intervals. For practical purposes, this term is typically used only when applied to the diminished 5th (semitone less than perfect 5th, a C-natural, E-natural and G-Flat for example) and diminished 7th (made up of three minor thirds, C-natural, E-flat, G-flat and B-double flat, or A-natural for example).
