CRV
- Abbreviation for Constant Angular Velocity. This term is used to denote when a disc-based storage system rotates the disc at a constant rotational speed (in RPM), as opposed to CLV, where the disc rotation speed is varied to achieve a Constant Linear Velocity. Magneto optical discs work at CAV, which is one reason why they are capable of faster read/write speeds than some other optical formats.
