C-weighting: A type of weighting curve designed into filters for equipment measuring sound output levels. The C-curve is basically "flat," with -3 dB corners of 31.5 Hz and 8 kHz, respectively. It is designed to loosely correspond to how humans perceive sound at higher volume levels as indicated by curves such as the Fletcher Munson Curves.
