Chris Jenkins
Chris Jenkins
Hi, my name is Chris Jenkins. I have been an audio engineer for over 10 years now, but my journey in music started much earlier than that. I have been involved in music and audio in one way or another since early grade school, where I started with the clarinet and then quickly moved to the “cooler” saxophone. I started as an engineer right out of high school and was trained by a former audio engineer from the famous Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco (Grateful Dead, Santana, Jefferson Airplane). I quickly caught the engineering bug and developed a drive to constantly study the state of the art to be the best possible resource for my clients.
I have a passion for helping people. I consider it my responsibility to be intimately familiar with the needs and issues of every musician and engineer, whether it’s live sound reinforcement, professional audio installations for large and small venues, engineering in the studio, or the performing. I get the greatest satisfaction when I am able to help you have your voice heard, and I am fully confident, given my experience and training, that I can help you do just that.
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Where are you from originally?
I was born in Florida but raised in beautiful, sunny Southern California. I consider Sweetwater to be the absolute best at what they do and didn’t think twice about having to relocate to Indiana to be a part of the team.
-
What was your occupation before coming to Sweetwater?
Lead audio technician for Hope Chapel in Lancaster, California; audio engineer for Live Oaks Studio; and technology team coordinator for Antelope Valley Disaster Relief Network are a few jobs/positions I’ve had in the past. All of them have prepared me for my position here at Sweetwater.
-
Why did you first apply for a job at Sweetwater?
I love music and music technology. I also love teaching others about the things that excite me. Sweetwater offers an opportunity for me to combine those two things and help customers meet their unique needs.
-
Technical strengths:
All things live sound and studio related, but I have a passion for solving problems that drives me to find the correct solution for every situation.

-
Family info:
I am married to an amazing and talented wife who is the best pianist and singer I know.
-
Guilty pleasure of choice:
There are many, but I’d have to say Rice Krispies Treats. And if you ever come to visit, I’d be happy to share from the stash I keep at my desk at all times.
-
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sweetwater team?
It would have to be that I’m an integral part of making people’s musical dreams become a reality.
-
What is the most important thing you've learned at Sweetwater?
Before coming here, I was skeptical about everything I had heard regarding how much Sweetwater really cares and has the best interests of the customer at heart. It’s just not something you find at other companies, but I’m happy to say that those suspicions were unfounded. I wouldn’t be working here if we didn’t operate that way.
Interview with Chris...

Chris is fantastic- seriously. If I could give him an 11 I would. Knowledgeable, responsive, but not pushy. I had started an order online, but then had a question. Was speaking to Chris within minutes, and he answered my questions AND completed my order for me. I will continue to work with Chris... and Sweetwater... because they understand the value of good customer service.

Excellent equipment, sold by very knowledgable, helpful sales staff. I will order again from Sweetwater without second thought. As a Broadcast / Audio Engineer, I need people who speak the same language / lingo on the other end. I found that with Chris and staff. If he didn't have an answer to a question, he found an answer immediately. Without a doubt, a 5-star transaction and my audio needs were met above expectations!

Absolutely amazed by the personal service on our order! It is obvious customer satisfaction is a priority. Your company would be the first place we would look for music related items. Great prices, great service and BTW, even the little touch of adding some candy made my kids very pleased! Thank you!

I have to say it's the most personal order I've ever made from the pre-ship phone call, to the email, and finally the candy in the box. Thanks! I don't think I could beat the customer service even in a local shop
