The Benefits
Sweetwater offers a number of competitive benefits programs for full-time employees. These programs provide a core level of benefits, with options for additional benefits designed to fit you and your family's needs. Upon meeting the service dates described below, you may be eligible for one or more of the following programs:
Financial Benefits
401(k) PlanAfter 90 days, Sweetwater offers a flexible 401(k) plan with a company match.
Profit-sharing ProgramAfter completion of one year of employment, employees are eligible for the profit-sharing program.
Employee Purchase PlanAfter 90 days of employment with Sweetwater, employees are able to purchase equipment at the cost listed in the inventory record from the company (not cost + 10%, as is common with most other retailers).
Relocation AssistanceSweetwater may provide new employees assistance with relocation expenses, such as the cost of a rental truck, packing materials, hotel stays (if needed), meals, gas, tolls, etc. In addition, we have a number of realtor and apartment complex contacts for help in locating housing. This is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Health and Income-protection Benefits
Group Health InsuranceFull-time employees are eligible for the company's health insurance plan after 90 days of employment. Coverage for spouse, child, or family is also available at additional cost. We offer two types of insurance: A Traditional Plan and a High Deductable Alternative. Our Wellness Program offers discounts on the premiums employees pay.
Dental InsuranceFull-time employees are eligible for our dental insurance plan after 90 days of employment. Coverage for spouse, child, or family is also available at additional cost.
Flexible Spending Medical-reimbursement AccountThe Flexible Spending Account allows you to be reimbursed with company money for some out-of-pocket health care expenses that you incur.
Flexible Spending Dependent-care AccountAn employee may elect to have up to $5,000 per year set aside on a "pre-tax" basis to pay for dependent-care costs.
Employee Assistance ProgramWe recognize that personal and family issues can impact your life both at home and at work. To assist you and your family, the Work-Life Matters assistance program offers experienced counselors available in person here in Fort Wayne.
Term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment InsuranceFull-time employees receive $15,000 of term life insurance and $15,000 of accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost to the employee.
Time Off
Paid Time OffFull-time employees are eligible for paid time off, which begins to accrue after just 90 days. The length of an employee's continuous employment with the company determines the number of paid days off earned in a work year.
National HolidaysFull-time employees are granted paid holidays after they have completed 90 days of employment.
Bereavement LeaveAfter 90 days of employment, full-time employees are entitled to take up to three days, off with pay, when a death occurs in the immediate family.
Jury DutyAfter 90 days of employment, full-time employees will be assured of their full salary, in conjunction with the stipulated amount paid by the state, in the event that the employee is called to appear for jury duty.
Community Benefits
Sweetwater Activities CommitteeA percentage of company profits are given to this committee's fund to plan Sweetwater functions for employees and families. Examples of events are amusement park trips, company picnics, holiday parties, Thanksgiving turkeys, etc.
Sweetwater Advantage CardWe have partnered with a number of local restaurants and businesses to offer discounts on their services. Each employee receives a laminated card listing these discounts as they become available.
Free TicketsThroughout the year Sweetwater offers employees free tickets to Fort Wayne-area musical and dramatic performances, sporting events, and other productions.
