|ProGear Directory Shuttled Into Space|
On May 11, 2009 when space shuttle Atlantis blasted off to repair the Hubble Space Telescope for the final time, it made worldwide headlines. What you may not have known is that this space mission made history at Sweetwater too, because the astronauts of this mission had a copy of our ProGear! The crew consisted of Commander Scott D. Altman, (he was the actual pilot that flew Mavericks plane in the movie Top Gun...they call him Scooter), Retired Navy Captain Gregory C. Johnson as pilot, Mission Specialists veteran space walkers John M. Grunsfeld and Michael J. Massimino and first-time space fliers Andrew J. Feustel, Michael T. Good, and Megan McArthur. Because our catalog weighs over a pound, and there were such strict weight constraints for this mission, they were only allowed the cover. Talk about a big catalog, it takes up too much space for...well... space!
