|Sweetwater Introduces New Family of Creation Station Computers|
| - Rolls Out Updated Lineup of Audio-optimized Computers -
Fort Wayne, IN, March 23, 2009 - Sweetwater, the fourth-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the world, according to Music Trades magazine, introduces an updated lineup of their popular Creation Station audio computers. Assembled on-site at Sweetwater, Creation Station PCs are optimized for audio production and built to provide whisper-quiet operation in critical studio environments.
The latest family of Creation Stations includes two tower-style CPUs and two rackmountable computers. Designed to suit everyone from home-studio hobbyists to performing musicians to professionals in commercial studio settings, these machines are constructed from top-grade components for maximum speed, performance, and reliability. All four models sport powerful processors, ample storage options, and multiple connection points for interfaces and other peripherals.
Housed in a sturdy rackmountable chassis, the flagship Rack XT boasts 6GB of RAM, a 2.66GHz Core i7 processor, a 500GB hard drive, and a 1TB audio/library drive. Like the other models in the Creation Station family, the Rack XT includes a dual-output VGA/DVI port, and a multimedia card reader. Geared toward the professional producer or musician, this audio PC is built to handle even the most demanding studio projects, while its portable configuration makes it well suited for mobile recording or using virtual instruments onstage. Eleven USB ports and two FireWire ports provide plenty of connection options. The more affordable Rack model uses a 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad processor and two 500GB drives and provides 4GB of RAM. It also includes nine USB ports and two FireWire ports. Housed in a rackmountable enclosure, this quiet but powerful CPU is ideal for mobile recording setups.
The new Creation Station line also includes the 2.66GHz Tower, a very quiet, very reliable standalone unit made to take on big projects. It features a Core 2 Quad processor and, like the Rack, includes two high-performance 500GB drives, nine USB ports and two FireWire connections. Ideal for USB-based home, project, and professional studio applications, the Tower LE is the most affordable of the new Creation Stations. It offers 2GB of RAM and houses a 2.5GHz Pentium Dual-core processor and one 500GB hard drive.
Each of these Creation Station computers uses the Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit operating system and comes complete with a 110-key Media Station keyboard and a 3-button optical mouse. In addition, Creation Station owners get access to Sweetwater's industry-leading tech support team, as well as SweetCare Remote support, which allows for remote service. Sweetwater also backs these products with their exclusive 2-year Total Confidence Coverage warranty. Detailed information about Creation Station computers is available at www.sweetwater.com.
According to Sweetwater founder and President Chuck Surack, "These are the most powerful Creation Stations we've ever made, but they're also the most affordable. We're excited to offer the music community a line of computers that are built from the ground up for audio."
