|Sweetwater Continues To Expand Staff|
| - Leading music technology retailer boosts team with new employees -
Fort Wayne, IN, August 1, 2007 - Sweetwater, the fifth-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the world, according to Music Trades magazine, has increased their total employment to 285, up by 28 from 257 at the end of 2006.
New full-time employees include:
Sales Engineer Scott Bradley served for seven years as Artistic Director of the Jenny Wiley Theatre in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He holds a degree in Music Performance from Moorehead State University, and has taught voice and reed instruments.
Sales Engineer Dave Walent is a recent graduate of Luzerne Community College in Pennsylvania, with an Associate Degree in Music Recording Technology. He is a native of Mountaintop, Pennsylvania, and served as a weapons engineer for two years in the United States Air Force. He worked at a number of recording studios in the Wilkes-Barre area.
Sales Engineer Joe Kirklin recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in Audio Production and Technology from Michigan Tech, where he also served as chief engineer at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts. He interned at the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts and comes from Coleman, Michigan.
Sales Engineer Austin Stober is a Huntington, Indiana native and a recent graduate of the Recording Arts program at Full Sail in Orlando. He interned at The Lodge studios in Indianapolis and is a drummer as well as a bass and guitar player.
Sales Engineer Jonathan Gillespie ran Monastic Chambers Recording Studio in New Haven, Indiana for 14 years. He has a Bachelor's in Music Composition from Wheaton Conservatory of Music and is an accomplished keyboard player.
Sales Engineer Rob Crocker is a Fort Wayne native with an extensive background in IT/computer and systems management. He has attended both Ivy Tech and IPFW and plays a number of instruments and performs in bands.
Sales Engineer Kayte Revitte is from East Lansing, Michigan where she attended Michigan State and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Sales Engineer Chris Scheidies is from Grand Island, Nebraska, where he was Director of Production and Marketing for Computer Concepts. He attended the University of Nebraska, Kearney, and is working toward a music degree at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He plays and has taught both guitar and bass.
Sales Engineer Billy Fortenberry is from Auburn, Alabama, and has been playing music (bass and guitar) for 20 years, recording for the last 11. He is a 1999 graduate of The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. He has been a social service worker for the past several years for the state of Alabama.
Sales Engineer Nick Schenkel comes from Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he recently graduated with an Associate's Degree in Music Production and Recording from Washtenaw Community College. He plays guitar, bass, and piano and has considerable experience with live sound.
Shelby Siefring has been promoted from Receptionist to Sales Assistant. She has a degree in Telecommunications from Ball State.
Sales Assistant Abby Bohrer is a Huntington, Indiana native currently attending Ivy Tech.
Sales Assistant Andrew Teeple has an Associate's Degree in Audio Engineering from McNally Smith in St. Paul, Minnesota and is a bassist in two different bands. He is from Ossian, Indiana.
Tony Headrick has joined the Marketing Department as a Web Designer. He is from Fort Wayne and has a degree from International Business College. He has spent the past few years working freelance.
Justin Bauer will be working in accounting and verification. He is originally from Huntington, Indiana, but currently lives in Fort Wayne. He has an Associate Degree in accounting from Michiana College.
In addition, new part-time and full-time employees have been hired to bolster the Reception and Shipping departments.
Sweetwater founder and president Chuck Surack said, "We're excited to continue bringing new talent to our company, both from the region and from out of state. We're on track to increase total employment to 300 by the end of the year."
