|Sweetwater Bolsters Management Team with New HR Director|
| Sweetwater, the industry’s leading retailer of music technology, has stepped up its nationwide recruiting campaign by hiring Jeff McDonald as Senior Human Resources Director. McDonald brings a 30-year background in retail management and human resources to the Fort Wayne-based company.
Prior to joining Sweetwater McDonald served as manager of six different Sears retail stores, amassing a track record of revenue growth and management and associate training. Most recently he was manager of a Sears anchor store at Polaris Mall in Columbus, OH.
“Jeff’s background in recruiting and staff development will be invaluable to Sweetwater as we expand,” stated Sweetwater founder and President Chuck Surack. “We offer outstanding career opportunities to qualified candidates, and Jeff does an outstanding job of communicating the essence of our company to prospective employees.”
Last year Sweetwater was named one of the region’s 50 best places to work by Fort Wayne Business Journal. “That says a lot about the quality experience Sweetwater staffers enjoy,” Surack added.
McDonald said his role at Sweetwater consists of two essential components. “First, we want to continue to find the most talented people in the country to fill these unique positions. Second, I want to make certain we serve as an employee resource to make this a compelling place to work.” McDonald noted the retailer’s double-digit growth and said he relishes the challenge of staffing up to support future expansion. “Sweetwater currently has more than 200 employees, but I’m already thinking ahead to hiring our 300th and 400th,” he said.
McDonald received a B.S. in Communications from DePauw University. As is the case with virtually all Sweetwater employees, he is also a musician, and counts playing guitar as one of his primary interests.
