The Director of Purchasing is a senior level position at Sweetwater. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to multitask in an extremely fast-paced environment, process and disseminate large amounts of information quickly, and has experience with inventory control.
Responsibilities include purchasing inventory - knowing exactly what is in demand, how much is needed, and being able to predict what new piece of gear will really take off. He or she works one-on-one with vendors and reps to negotiate costs, quantities, delivery schedules and quality requirements. The Director of Purchasing will also manage a small group of people, delegate tasks, and assist the Marketing Department with special product pricing and vendor compliance restrictions.
